Cookie Policy

The cookies and local storage used by tolwerk.com, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to accept, reject or change your analytics choice.

Last updated October 13, 2026

This policy explains how tolwerk.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.

1. Your choice

When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. The site works identically either way.

Choice What happens
Accept all Google Analytics cookies are set and we record how the site is used
Reject non-essential No analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is recorded about your visit
Global Privacy Control on Treated as a rejection; the banner is not shown

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page.

2. What we use

Strictly necessary. To remember your cookie choice we store a single value in your browser’s local storage (tolwerk-consent). It contains only the words granted or denied, is never shared, and can be cleared by clearing site data in your browser. It is not used to identify you.

Analytics (optional). If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets the following cookies to distinguish sessions and remember campaign attribution:

Cookie Purpose Duration
_ga Distinguishes unique visitors 2 years
_ga_<property> Keeps session state for our GA4 property 2 years

Provider: Google LLC. Data is processed according to Google’s terms for analytics, and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Our property retains event data for 14 months.

We do not use advertising, marketing, retargeting or social media cookies.

3. Third-party services that may receive your IP address

Some elements load from third-party services and necessarily transmit your IP address: Cloudflare (site delivery and bot protection) and, if you accept analytics, Google Analytics. Cloudflare Turnstile may also set a challenge cookie while you submit the quotation form; it is used solely to distinguish people from automated submissions.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and you can set it to send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Blocking strictly necessary storage means the site will ask for your cookie choice on every visit.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

5. Changes

We will update this policy if the technologies we use change. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
